Current Work
When living in Wolverhampton, I was inspired by the smoky colours and metals of the industrial town which have become the basis for my glass pieces. I’ve found this colour palette in other places such as the north east coast with its atmospheric skies. Strong lines and structure have also been an important part of my work such as derelict buildings and scenes with lines that cross over and interrupt the view, creating new and exciting vistas.
Taking this inspiration, I wanted to create glass panels that form an abstract scene, a glass picture. Using layers of coloured frit, powder and sheet glass with foil and leaf, these are built up in stages to create depth and texture.
